No. 6 Georgia (home) vs. Missouri (away)
Current Records: Georgia 7-1; Missouri 5-3
The Missouri Tigers have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. They are staying on the road on Saturday, facing off against the Georgia Bulldogs at 7 p.m. ET at Sanford Stadium. Both teams have allowed few points on average (Missouri 18.13, Georgia 11.38), so any points scored will be well earned.
The point spread favored the Tigers two weeks ago, but luck did not. They have to be aching after a bruising 29-7 loss to the Kentucky Wildcats. A silver lining for Missouri was the play of RB Tyler Badie, who caught two passes for 82 yards and picked up 31 yards on the ground on six carries. One of the most thrilling moments of the contest was Badie’s 74-yard TD reception in the third quarter. Badie topped his previous yardage high for the season with this performance.
Meanwhile, Georgia was able to grind out a solid win over the Florida Gators last week, winning 24-17. Georgia QB Jake Fromm was slinging it as he passed for 279 yards and two TDs on 30 attempts. Near the top of the highlight reel was Fromm’s 52-yard TD bomb to WR Lawrence Cager in the fourth quarter.
Georgia’s victory lifted them to 7-1 while Missouri’s defeat dropped them down to 5-3. Two defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Georgia has yet to allow a single rushing touchdown. As for the Tigers, they rank fourth in the league when it comes to passing yards allowed per game, with only 144.5 on average. We’ll find out if either of these strengths ends up making the difference in the game.
